Relationship with the Church

Methodist Theological School is an institution of the Sarawak Chinese Annual conference (SCAC), the Sarawak Iban Annual conference (SIAC) and the Sabah Provisional Annual Conference (SPAC). It is directly responsible to a joint Board of Management, and serves the three Annual Conferences accordingly. The Principal and all the faculty members (except for part-time) are under appointment by these two Annual Conferences.

Methodist Theological School is also a member school of the Association of Theological Education in Southeast Asia (ATESEA), and a full member of Malaysian Association of Theological Schools (MATS).

Means of contacts with the churches and colleges are follows:

I. Through Newsletters; MTS Message
II. Through holding theological education Sundays or fellowship meetings
III. Through Theological Education by Extension or LLT
IV. Through holding Short-term Mission Course

b. With other theological colleges: STM & TTC & STS
I. Through exchange of students & faculty
II. Through exchange of news about library books
III. Through theological consultation
IV. Through mutual understanding of the grading systems and syllabus
V. Through faculty development
