Methodist Theological School 卫理神学院

1951年纽约女布道总干事殷路得莅临诗巫考察本地神学教育需要。当时黄淑英师姑说: “殷干事对发展教会与栽培人才具有兴趣与权力”因此乃组织招待委办，邀她往乡区堂会及民丹莪，泗里街，加帛去访察。后由数位牧师及会友筹备会呈上报告及申请书于殷干事查阅。

（甲）申请由中国退出之热心男女布道员来助布道事业。
（乙）申请拨款开办神学院以栽培传道人才。
（丙）请求拨款建筑女宿舍。

蒙殷干事答应说：我已明了此地情形，待回纽约时磋商，请将此申请书由总务部传达纽约布道部。

至1952年马来亚年议会在吉隆坡举行，砂已有堂会与布道所六十余间，深感缺乏传道人才，请求纽约布道部支持在诗巫设立神学院。

1953 年蒙纽约布道部来函，申请得允，全力支持在诗巫开办神学院。

1954年诗巫卫理神学院正式开校，设有华，伊两部。暂借女生宿舍楼下为教室，先训练现任本处传道七名。

1955年政府已批准新校舍图案，随即投标动工，包括礼堂、教室、图书馆、宿舍、厨房、饭厅等，建筑费、设备费、教员薪金，学生奖学金等款，均由外洋布道部男女两部负责。五月间周苏藤博士由美深造荣获博士，应聘回诗巫任院长职，成为卫神第一位全职讲师。

1956年六月间，新校舍落成奉献。

Methodist Theological School is an institution of the Sarawak Chinese Annual conference (SCAC), the Sarawak Iban Annual conference (SIAC) and the Sabah Provisional Annual Conference (SPAC). It is directly responsible to a joint Board of Management, and serves the three Annual Conferences accordingly. The Principal and all the faculty members (except for part-time) are under appointment by these two Annual Conferences.

A. The Methodist Theological School is established to be the theological training center of the Methodist Church in Sarawak and overseas, with the purpose of serving the church through the following types of programmes.

• The training of ministers for both overseas churches and local churches, the Chinese and Iban Methodist Churches in particular.
• The training of supply pastors and diaconal ministers in both the Iban and Chinese Methodist Churches.
• The promotion of Refresher Courses for in-service ministers.

我们感谢神使用我们的两个部门，就是神学部和礼拜与音乐部以培育本地的教会领袖人才 (牧者，宣教士，教会音乐师及教会领袖) 。卫神是一间由卫理公会所创办的神学院。学院一切的经济，资源，行政管理全都由卫理公会本身负责。我们虽然着重於卫斯理的特色，但也开放给所有正统基督教信仰的各宗派弟兄姐妹来接受装备.我们可以、也愿意并且预备好去培育，只需更有系统的给予我们更多学生－那些有心服事神的学生！

我们每年的招募目标如下：

• 神学部门 (包括神学先修班：20-30位) (15-20华；5-10伊)
• 礼拜与音乐部门：5-10位
• 延伸神学教育 (诗巫/美里/古晋/民都鲁): 20位
• 短期宣教学校 (华/英/伊)：80-100位
• 海外生

卫神除了定意要装备本地会友外，也很盼望能够将神的祝福分享给海外的信徒。近年来，卫神收到许多由海外如中国及其他亚洲国家的来信询问有关申请入学详情。目前已成立一个海外学生事务委员会来策划与商讨入学条列和接收新生。
